Flying Eye Productions
Mobile Recording Services

Does your band want to record a gig?

Does your band need a demo recording for a press kit?

Do you have a space with acoustics you love and want your album recorded there?

Does your School, Church, College or University wish to preserve an important event?

Maybe your orchestra or choir plans to produce a CD?

Do you need on-location audio recording for a film shoot, documentary or radio advertisement?

Flying Eye Productions can help with all of the above and more besides. Our state-of-the-art mobile recording rig is adaptable and suitable for a wide range of applications and situations.

We have a modular system which can be used as two 24 track rigs or combined into a 48 track rig. Our main rig consists of two Alesis HD24 recorders, each with 24 channels of preamps.  The first Alesis is racked with an ATI 8MX2 (8 preamps) and a Urei 7510A (16 preamps). The second Alesis is racked with 12 ART Dual MPs (24 preamps) with Black Lion modifications.

For live gigs, your options range from bringing in just a recorder and cables while utilizing the FOH console direct outputs (least expensive) all the way to bringing in our 48 channel splitter snake, your choice of preamps and a great selection of very nice microphones.  We also have three Yamaha MY16AT cards, allowing us to take optical directly from a Yamaha PM5D, PM1D or M7CL digital console.  Our specialty is what we like to call the “Rattle and Hum setup” – bringing everything into any space where you might want to record.  Practice rooms, basements, churches, barns, gym showers: virtually anywhere that’s secure, dry and has clean power!

Basic Rates:

24 tracks, direct outs from FOH console                                   $300/ day
24 tracks, solid state preamps, split, mics, stands, cables           $400/ day
24 tracks, tube preamps, split, mics, stands, cables                   $500/ day
48 tracks, ss and tube preamps, split, mics, stands, cables         $600/ day

Prices do not include media.  No travel charges within 100 miles, actual charges over 100 miles.  Discounts for multiple shows if booked at the same time.  We can provide customers with multitracks on their hard drive, in almost any format.  Or mixing is available here at our studio for $300/ day.

Ask for examples of our work.

Clients include:  The Rhythm Devils (members of the Grateful Dead),  Darrell Scott,
Acoustic Syndicate,  Barefoot Manner,  Old Crow Medicine Show,  G Love and Special Sauce, Cyro Baptista and many others

I'm just going to hop in to put my seal of approval on this post.  Worked with Chris quite a bit and can't say enough about both the product he will create for you and the great overall mood and ease that he brings to the job.  I can't offer enough praise!

I know lots of you guys out there that might be looking to do a live recording and you cannot go wrong with this setup.  Trust me on this one.  Keith, Marcus... isn't it time you guys put out a kickass live album?  Trust me on this one...

I have been a huge fan of Acoustic Syndicate for many years now, and the library of amazing live performances I have thanks to Chris is one of my most treasured musical possesions.  The quality of his recordings are always outstanding.  I'd take him over Healy or Lanquedoc any day of the week.
