Promoted by The Neighborhood Theatre
Giving homage in a continually evolving artistic outlet, the Dark Star Orchestra recreates historic Grateful Dead set lists with compelling accuracy. Each night, the Chicago-based band decides on performing one show from the over 2,500 that the Grateful Dead originally performed during their 30 year tenure as fathers of improvisational rock.
Dark Star Orchestra presents the complete original set list, song by song, and in order, with uncanny faithful interpretation. To date, DSO has covered more than 1,300 different Grateful Dead shows.
At the end of every performance, the band announces the date and venue where the original show just covered took place. Dark Star Orchestra dips into every incarnation of the Dead, so most fans can "see" shows that happened long before they were born.

Sent you a pm Vikas..
Does everyone have their tickets?
I gave a heads up last week for Umphrey's... It sold out 30 minutes after the doors opened... then my phone blew up with Can you...? Will you...? Is there anyway I can...? This is your DSO heads up...

got it... fair crowd... go tonight if you can. Ne Jerry is ok but sounds more like the dope sick Jerry than the young vibrant Jerry. We did get a 70's GD show from Mass.. forget the date and venue right now
Off the top of my head
Jack Straw opener
Shakedown
Playing In the Band
Huge Casey Jones
Donna did not sit in with DSO but played a pretty good set that ramped... the Rider was HOT but Donna's voice sounded pretty weak throughout her set (yes I know she never could sing :)
Lots of friends form Asheville, Greensbro, and of course QC.. I had a blast! Energy lacked early, probably due to the fake jerry change... once the boys got rolling it was nothing but dancing bodies and smiles. The nice thing about the crowd size was plenty of dancing room for all... hoops in the lobby. Always a great vibe at NT dso shows!
I expect a bigger crowd tonight.

Thanks for the update Bro', did you tape it? Had a feeling that there would be a drop off with the first fake Jerry on tour with Further.

yeah man I got it.. there were three of us there. not sure who the others were. One was a youngish lady.. Brian may know her. Getting my first listen now. not real happy with it... went straight aud. Was offered the matrix by dso (on approval) but chose instead to play a little, I bailed to the rail...
Still gonna be a good listen.. always fun to hear the crowd at the NT singing along

I had a blast on Friday night. If i remeber correctly it was a show from 75'. We where posted right beside the band and behind the sound board so it was really cool to watch all the kids and old headz getting down. Terrapin and shakedown where prob my highlights. Really wished i could make it last night but with so much good music in the next couple months i decided to sit it out. I hate to say it but i had much more fun seeing DSO than further the week before. Can't wait to phunky w/ Trey next friday.
