The Situationals to Release New Album, Bellwether, with a CD Release Party at Snug Harbor in Charlotte, NC on February 21st.
Charlotte band, The Situationals, is gearing up for the release of their much-anticipated CD, Bellwether. They are hosting a release party on Sunday, February 21st at Snug Harbor, located at 1228 Gordon Street in the Plaza-Midwood neighborhood of Charlotte. The first of two sets for the night starts at 9:00 PM and everyone in attendance will receive a copy of the album.
The Situationals put a modern spin on post-punk powerpop. They are guided by their love of ‘80s alternative, early NYC punk, new wave, and contemporary indie. They add to these influences their own strong songs, smoldering hot vocals, and driving instrumentation. The Situationals are Kelly Morse, Candice Tucker, Todd Day, Jason Perkins, and Michael Carinelli. They quickly gained a reputation for their raucous live shows and unique material. Their music has been used in films and television. In 2006, they released the debut EP, Heaven is High and The Emperor is Far Away, to enthusiastic reviews. Bellwether is their first full-length album.
“We are thrilled to be able to put this record out. We put a lot of time and love into it and feel that we captured what we wanted to do with this one,” says producer/multi-instrumentalist, Kelly Morse. Singer, Candice Tucker adds, “ It feels great to have it finished and also like it’s just the beginning. Now is the fun part when people hear it!” Lyricist/guitarist, Michael Carinelli, sums it up nicely, “It’s a great album. The Snug Harbor party will be huge fun. We’re performing the entire album for the first set and then returning for a set of new stuff, songs from Heaven, and fun covers. You should come.”
