Moon Taxi

"Nashville's Moon Taxi redeem the notion of a 'jam band.' Moon Taxi synthesizes divergent elements into a cohesive, concert-ready rush, which makes Live Ride a prime intro to this vibrant group. These performances capture a going-for-the-jugular dedication that looks for the folks in the back of the room not getting off and strives to make them pop. In their mixture of interesting time signatures, feel good melodies and genre-snubbing diversity, they are kin to archetypal jam bands like God Street Wine, String Cheese and the aforementioned Phish, but like those bands, possess their own identity, their own way of handling the raw materials.

The Mumbles

www.myspace.com/brooklynmumbles

The Mumbles are a Brooklyn, NY-based three-piece-- a tiny band with a mighty sound. Using two keyboards, trap drums, and a female voice, they combine soul music with avant and old time jazz to create "pop songs in the key of partying down"

For those of you who haven't seen Moon Taxi yet, I cannot recommend this show enough.  Their last show at the Double Door was spectacular (see the archives) and I am pumped for this one.

These guys are sick! Last time i saw them at the double door I swore I would never miss them.  I think anyone who comes out would say the same thing, so tell some friends and let's pack it out.

Okay - is it Moon Taxi with the Mumbles or the "Yogas"??

This is what the DD News Letter says:

"Sharing the stage with The Yogas, The Mumbles are a Brooklyn based three piece with a mighty sound. Using two keyboards, trap drums, and a female voice, they combine soul music with avant and old time jazz to create "pop songs in the key of partying down"

So what's up?

The crowd was a little light last night, but Moon Taxi rocked out anyway and I certainly had fun dancing!

Well I'm convinced.  I'll be at the Tiger tonight and welcome the Taxi to the 'boro.
