Rules are made for everyone's benefit. We have few, but the one's we have encourage a happier, healthier CLMS experience. It's your responsibility to know the rules and to follow them. At times ignorance is bliss but not here. The excuse "I didn't know" won't fly with our moderators. Visit this thread frequently to stay up to date on the current rules of our site. RULE #1 (Report)Upload an avatar right away! Your avatar appears in your profile and in your posts. Our community is full of people with varied personalities so choose one that fits yours. You have up to 5 posts to upload your avatar before you receive a gentle reminder from a moderator. Upload any .gif or .jpg image you like but it must be either
* A picture of yourself*
* A clever avatar**
* A picture of your pet
* Bands/Partners/Venues may use their own logo. Please no band logos on personal accounts.

RULE #2 (Report)Be kind! We won't tolerate any flaming of a member, band, partner, or anyone active in the music scene, whether they are a part of the CLMS or not. Treat all on these boards with the same kindness you would expect. Speak openly, give your opinion, but there's a productive way of doing so. If you don't like a band then tell us why you don't like them not just "XXX band sucks". If you don't agree with a poster, reply with why you don't agree with their statement. If you feel someone has broken forum rules, give them a gentle reminder but do not elaborate with your feelings or opinions about the infraction.
RULE #3 (Report)Post to the proper board! We have a search feature... use it! Most questions you have are probably already discussed somewhere else. If you aren't sure which board that that is...
PM an administrator RULE #4 (Report)No more than 4 videos per topic or 5 photos per post! That's just plain annoying and really hard on the servers. We've allowed you the ability to embed YouTube videos and pics directly into your replies. COPY/PASTE the code directly into your reply but limit it to only one video per post (no more than 4 per Topic) and 5 photos per post. If you feel the need to post more... start a new topic.
RULE #5 (Report)No hijacking! We won't tolerate our discussions being interrupted by someone posting off topic. Stick to the topic, start your own, or search for a discussion that may already be going on. Our search feature works nicely. There may already be another topic discussing what you have to say. RULE #6 (Report)SPAM SUCKS!! Announcing a show in multiple forums is considered spam here. Announce Shows & Festivals in Shows & Festivals or on a band board only. Manic posting or postings considered annoying to this community are also considered spam... don't do it.
RULE #7 (Report)Do not use unauthorized scripts, robots, bots, or gadgets to post, harvest, or farm files from our site.
RULE #8 (Report)WE SUPPORT LIVE ORIGINAL MUSICIANS! We do not support or offer our site for the promotion of cover bands or their shows unless it is the side project of verifiable original musicians already known to our community as original musicians. We consider a project original when at least 50% of the music is written and arranged by the artists(s) performing the music.
RULE #9 (Report)Give us the 411! When posting Upcoming Shows please provide all important information such as Band/Venue/City/Date in the Subject line.

Give back to the community! All of the live music, photos, and videos are provided freely to you for your enjoyment. Your opinion not only matters to our members but also helps the bands reach the top lists you see to the left. We ask that when you stream, download, or view photos that you return to rate and leave an honest comment. That's little to ask for hundreds of free live concert downloads and several thousand photos and videos of Carolina live music.
