The rumor is $250,000 was what madhouse offered and sci turned it down.  IDK what the amount was that got them to play.

But I would have to guess their take is between 200 and 250. You have to figure 5  thousand or so people are going to travel for their show alone. Had they done it at their own venue 1 performance they would have made 150K for those 5K people on a 30$ ticket. They are playing this show more because its their show. They own Mad. house and its a good show to do before they get into scheduling anything serious.

SCI does not own madhouse.  they are seperate entities.  SCI stopped touring in part because of madison house.

The Madison House/SCI family of companies are seven in total. They are: Madison House, Inc., SCI Fidelity Records, SCI Ticketing, SCI Gear, Madison House Travel, Madison House Design, and Madison House Publicity. All of the companies reside under one roof in Boulder, Colorado.

Each company spawned from the management and booking agency Madison House, Inc., and four of the companies (SCI Fidelity, SCI Ticketing, SCI Gear, Madison House Travel) are also partnered with the band, The String Cheese Incident.

Madison House, Inc. was started in 1996 by founders Mike Luba and Nadia Prescher as a boutique booking agency.

In 1998, they relocated the business to Boulder, Colorado to downsize their booking roster and focus more on expanding Madison House’s services. They brought in partners Jeremy Stein (1998), Kevin Morris (1999), and Jesse Aratow (1999) to help facilitate this process. The vision was to centralize all of the industry’s individual parts. In
doing so, they believed this would encourage strong communication between each component, and nurture “outof-the-box” thinking.

Today, the Madison House/ SCI companies employ over 40 people and boast a diverse roster of successful acts, including CAKE, Charlie Hunter, Keller Williams, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Steve Winwood, The String Cheese Incident and others. With all of its parts under one roof, the seven companies have been able to stay true to their original philosophy of supporting collaborations with artists who desire creative freedom and artistic integrity, and who place high priority on their relationship with the fans.

Internationally recognized as an innovative model for the future of the
music business by such media as NPR Marketplace, Wall Street Journal and Forbes Magazine, Madison House, Inc. continues to build and nurture sustainable careers for their clients.

Madison House, Inc. (Booking and Management)
Formed in 1996 in Athens, Georgia and currently located in Boulder, Colorado, Madison
House, Inc. is dedicated to providing unique and innovative management and booking for their clients. The company’s approach to the business of music comes from the belief in the music they promote, an attention to the needs of both their artists and the fans, and an absolute willingness to try anything.

I was under the impression the SCI had a stake or ownership in the company as well. Good to know though.

SCI has a stake in SCI ticketing, SCI merchandise, SCI Fidelity and Madhouse Travel.  SCI doesn't get a piece of any of the rest of the business.  That's a misconception I held for a long time but was set straight by a Madison House bigwig that I met a couple years ago.

And now we have all been put in the right. Any other knowledge you want to drop on us. I think we should have a "TheWook" forum where you just have a Wook's thoughts on music and world topics.
